Most important info:
/data/user/$username:1TB , no backup/psi/home/$username:10GB , Backup
Data, Data Processing , Conda etc. should be in /data/user/$username, as it needs quite some storage, very important things that need to be backup-ed and are small go to /psi/home/$username
Group projects
Most (research) groups have a project folder with much more disk quota ("space"), BIO has a total of 2.0 PB , currently at ~ 1.9 PB. Check for the quotas (personal and group) with:
merlin_quotas
As a general rule, home and /data/user/$USER quotas are usually not changed by the admins (unless you have strong reasons), but the quota of the BIO group folders will be changed upon request by G. Assmann.
If you want to have access to a specific group folder, you can request this with a SNOW ticket. Please select the corresponding unx-bio_xxxx group. The same form is used to request access to merlin, the corresponding group would be svc-cluster_merlin6.
