# [Gitea](https://gitea.psi.ch)

The supported GIT Service at PSI is [https://gitea.psi.ch](https://gitea.psi.ch) available from the PSI network and the Internet.
|
|
Here you can find various information about the services offered with Gitea and a FAQ about the migration.
|
|
|
|
|
|
## Permission Scheme
|
|
It is very important to understand that this service can be accessed over the Internet and the organizations and projects need according access restrictions.
|
|
|
|
### Organization / Project Permissions
|
|
Following settings allow/restrict access to projects:
|
|
- Public
|
|
- Enables read access to unauthenticated users (Also from the internet)
|
|
- Limited
|
|
- Visible to authenticated internal users (potentially all PSI users excluding external users)
|
|
- Private
|
|
- Visible to explicitly added users
|
|
|

If you want to have an AD (Active Directory) Group attached to a team you may contact [Gitea Project](mailto:gitea@psi.ch).
|
|
|
|
In case you want to manage your teams with AD groups, please send a mail to [Gitea Project](mailto:gitea@psi.ch) with the AD groups, Organizations and Teams.
|
|
|
|
### User Accounts
|
|
There is two types of user accounts in Gitea with different default access permissions:
|
|
- Normal User
|
|
- Is allowed to see Public and Internal projects when logged in
|
|
|
|
- Restricted User
|
|
- Is only allowed to see Projects explicitly added to.
|
|
|
