# Matlab

This only works on RHEL8/9 and above

Make the central Matlab installation available on the system by setting in Hiera:
|
|
|
|
```yaml

|
# make Matlab available on the system
|
|
matlab::enable: true
|
|
```

Optional (not recommended) - Setting a specific version of Matlab as default other than the global default:
|
|
|
|
```yaml
|
|
# configure a specific Matlab version other than the default
|
|
matlab::version: '2025a'
|
|
