# Conda / Anaconda

Due to license restrictions the usage of Anaconda at PSI is not allowed without obtaining a professional license from Anaconda.com!
|
|
The access to the anaconda "main" channel has therefore been blocked due to the following licensing changes: https://www.anaconda.com/blog/update-on-anacondas-terms-of-service-for-academia-and-research
|
|
|
|
You are required to completely remove the Anaconda __defaults__ channel(s) from your (personal) config, i.e., from ~/.condarc and you must not install any package from these repos!
|
|
|
|
We recommend to remove any Anaconda/Conda installation completely and use one of the following package managers instead!
|
|
|
|
|
|
Please use one of the following package managers instead of Anaconda:
|
|
|
|
- [Micromamba](https://mamba.readthedocs.io/en/latest/)
|
|
- [Pixi](https://pixi.prefix.dev/latest/)
|
|
|
|
