# Matlab Infrastructure

|
|
Matlab is provided on a central share for use on RHEL9+ systems. The share is __lx-fs.psi.ch:/applications/matlab__
|
|
|
|
## Installation
|
|
To install a new version of Matlab follow these steps:
|
|
|
|
- Download the iso file of the desired Matlab version from Mathworks.(this can usually only be done by the licence manager of PSI - at the time of writing dario.paolozzi@psi.ch)
|
|
- Mount the iso file on a linux system with a graphical environment
|
|
|
|
```bash
|
|
mount -o loop,ro /matlab/R2024b_Update_3_Linux.iso /matlab/iso/
|
|
```
|
|
|
|
- Start the graphical installer and specify the installation path
|
|
|
|
```bash
|
|
xhost +SI:localuser:root
|
|
sudo -H ./install
|
|
xhost -SI:localuser:root
|
|
```
|
|
|
|
- Specifying the network license file
|
|
```
|
|
$ cat network.lic
|
|
SERVER matlablicsrv ANY 1700
|
|
USE_SERVER
|
|
