# DHCPD
You can configure your node as DHCP server using `dhcpd`.
## Configuration
A simple example which already shows the most useful basic settings:
```
base::enable_dhcpd: true
dhcpd::subnet: '172.17.41.0'
dhcpd::netmask: '255.255.255.0'
dhcpd::default_lease_seconds: 1296000
dhcpd::max_lease_seconds: 1300000
```
Then how to set static addresses by MAC address of the requestor:
```
dhcpd::hosts_mac:
'bchip509':
mac: '70:b3:d5:3b:72:46'
ip: '172.17.41.79'
```
or by setting a static host address with the "DHCP client identifier":
```
dhcpd::hosts:
'172.17.41.201': 'JF2M5A-00'
'172.17.41.202': 'JF2M5A-01'
'172.17.41.203': 'JF2M5A-02'
```
Then you can limit `dhcpd` to one specific interface:
```
dhcpd::listen_interface: eno1
```
Or you can do your own with an include file:
```
dhcpd::include: /etc/dhcpd/my-experiment-network-dhcpd.conf
```
