Markus Zolliker dccd329435 enhanced parameter range checks ...

- check for <param>_min and <param>_max
- customized checks with check_<param> method

the inherited customized check functions are all called in
a sequence, with the possibilty to return True to quit earlier,
no need to use super calls here
