PackageKit/Gnome Software

PackageKit is the backend software which allows desktop users to install software using the Gnome Software tool. It also has an automatic software update feature, but for this functionality we suggest to use dnf automatic.

Except on workstationi-type systems this is disabled.

It can be explicitly be disabled with

desktop::enable_packagekit: false

or enabled with

desktop::enable_packagekit: true
