Multipath Configuration
This section describes the available configuration options for multipath in the profile::multipath Puppet profile. The profile manages the /etc/multipath.conf file based on the provided Hiera data.
The profile can be enabled by setting the hiera key base::enable_multipath to true.
Following options can be set in Hiera to customize the multipath configuration :
profile::multipath::wwid
A hash containing the allowed multipaths by mapping a device alias to its wwid.
Example Hiera data:
profile::multipath::wwid:
'vol1_a': '360080e50004315f40000087e5966df82'
'vol1_b': '360080e5000431680000007c35966e03e'
'vol1_c': '360080e50004315f4000008825966e1bf'
Generates the following in /etc/multipath.conf:
multipaths {
multipath {
alias vol1_a
wwid "360080e50004315f40000087e5966df82"
}
multipath {
alias vol1_b
wwid "360080e5000431680000007c35966e03e"
}
multipath {
alias vol1_c
wwid "360080e50004315f4000008825966e1bf"
}
}
profile::multipath::blacklist_wwid
A hash containing blacklisted multipaths by mapping a device alias to its wwid.
Example Hiera data:
profile::multipath::blacklist_wwid:
'vol1_j': '360080e50004315f40000087e59aaaaaa'
Generates the following in /etc/multipath.conf:
blacklist {
...
multipath {
alias vol1_j
wwid "360080e50004315f40000087e59aaaaaa"
}
...
}
profile::multipath::devices
An array of allowed devices for multipath.conf.
Example Hiera data:
profile::multipath::devices:
- vendor: "Supermicro"
product: "Supermicro"
Generates the following in /etc/multipath.conf:
devices {
device {
vendor "Supermicro"
product "Supermicro"
}
}
profile::multipath::blacklist_devices
An array of blacklisted devices for multipath.conf.
Example Hiera data:
profile::multipath::blacklist_devices:
- vendor: "HP"
product: "HP"
- vendor: "HP"
Generates the following in /etc/multipath.conf:
blacklist {
...
device {
vendor "HP"
product "HP"
}
device {
vendor "HP"
}
...
}
profile::multipath::blacklist_devnode
An array of node devices to blacklist in multipath.conf. The template already includes some default devnode patterns:
devnode "^(ram|raw|loop|fd|md|dm-|sr|scd|st)[0-9]*"
devnode "^(td|hd|vd)[a-z]"
devnode "^(dcssblk)[0-9]*"
Example Hiera data:
profile::multipath::blacklist_devnode:
- "sda"
- "sdb"
Generates the following in /etc/multipath.conf:
blacklist {
...
devnode "sda"
devnode "sdb"
...
}
