The merged reflections on a detected ice ring were all written as measured. A ring biases them -
up on the ring, down on its flanks where the background ring sits on it - or only adds scatter, or
leaves them alone, and which of these holds differs from ring to ring and run to run. Each ring's
core and its two flanks are now compared with the off-ring reflections within 0.02 A^-2 of it, read
against a local Wilson fit (CalcGlobalWilsonB, which now also returns its line): a band whose mean
normalised intensity departs from its neighbours' by more than 3 standard errors is rejected, one
that is only noisier (variance ratio beyond 3 standard errors, from the samples' own kurtosis) is
down-weighted by its excess variance, and the rest is merged as before. The verdict per band is
logged. Applied to the merge accumulators, so the export and the statistics see the same reflections.
