Changes to logging

Browse Source 
Add 'L' to 'M', 'N', 'D' log flags (for consistency)
Replace colon (':') in logfilenames with minus ('-')
Suppress spurious blank lines in logfile from line terminators
Add filename to open/close messages for chaining convenience
