CryoSPARC periodically releases new patches, which you can view on the CryoSPARC Updates page.

1. Ensure your CryoSPARC instance is running

If it is not running, start it with:

cryosparc-merlin cryosparcm start

!!! info "The -d / --cryosparc-path option" If the CryoSPARC installation is not located in the default directory /data/user/$USER/cryosparc, specify the installation path using the -d option.

2. Download the patches

cryosparc-merlin cryosparcm patch --download

3. Install the master node patch

cryosparc-merlin cryosparcm patch --install

4. Install the worker node patch

CRYOSPARC_PATH=/data/user/$USER/cryosparc

mv $CRYOSPARC_PATH/cryosparc_master/cryosparc_worker_patch.tar.gz \
$CRYOSPARC_PATH/cryosparc_worker

cryosparc-merlin cryosparcw patch

!!! warning "Worker Architecture" Make sure you access the correct worker installation. For installations with version 5 or above, the path to the worker installation has the architecture in the directory path.

5. Restart CryoSPARC to finalize the update

cryosparc-merlin cryosparcm restart
