# Virtual Machines

Until there is a dedicated workflow implemented in ServiceNow, virtual machines for Linux can be ordered by opening a general ServiceNow Ticket or by contacting linux-eng@psi.ch.

Please provide at least following information with the request:
- Contact person
- Hostname of virtual server
- OS (Linux / Windows)
- Short description of usage purpose
- Number of CPUs
- Memory [GB]
- Diskspace [GB]
- **PSP** / group number

If you can give more details to your plans the better! If you are unsure about some of the details here, please talk to us.

## Costs

You need to pay for the VM[^1] except:

1. VMs running on an already paid ESX-Cluster (for 2023 this is cpt*, gfa*, gls, catia-3d)
1. AIT
1. AWI
1. LOG

A SLA document[^2] will be prepared which shows the annual costs.
